Electric heating industry in Russia
Electric heating devices suitable for residential premises are divided into four main groups:
Oil radiators;Since in oil radiators the heating element is in the form of a spiral in a sealed and closed metal housing, they do not emit any odor during operation.
Fan heaters, unlike oil radiators, cannot work silently, since the design primarily implies the presence of a fan, distributing the air heated by the built-in heater around the room. The process of heating the room takes a little time, but due to the high noise level, it is undesirable to install them in the bedroom. In addition, fan heaters or their enlarged versions – heat guns, can emit an unpleasant odor during operation. The fact is that during operation, dust particles burn in contact with the hot wire, so the smell of burnt dust is noticeable.
Convector-type heaters are not equipped with a fan, the space is heated by air coming into contact with the heating element: the heater heats the air passing through it. At the same time, the air in the room continues to circulate naturally. This design is a kind of analogue of the central heating battery. The convector is flat, most models can be attached to the wall. The heating element of this heater does not burn air, as a result, it does not emit odors and works silently.
Infrared heaters are fundamentally different from the above types of heaters. Their task is to heat surrounding objects using infrared radiation. You can attach them to the wall, floor and even the ceiling. When choosing an infrared heater with ceiling installation, you should pay attention to the minimum installation height, it should be at least 1.5 meters from the floor. Another obvious disadvantage of this type of heater is uneven heating of the room.
The most common types of heaters in Russia are:
Microthermal;
Halogen;
Gas;
Ceramic;
Electric fireplaces

While this heater has a decorative design and looks more complicated than the other heaters in this collection, we found it easy to assemble, as we only had to attach the bases.
The main downside to this heater is that it costs over $250. On the other hand, it is an infrared heater, so it performs well in terms of energy efficiency, as among other types of heaters, infrared heaters typically require less electricity to operate.
